DCM Team Members:

 DCM seeks enterprising and aspiring individuals for the positions of Media Consultants, News Editors and Community Liaisons. All three roles vary slightly and which role is optimal depends largely on the skills and interests of the individual.  

A. Media Consultants are members of our sales team and work closely with our editorial staff and have three primary responsibilities:

  1. Identify national, regional or community organizations that could benefit from communicating their news and brand messages to the DCM brand audience.
  2. Regularly communicate with those organization seeking opportunities to be helpful both individually and organizationally.
  3. Work with our editorial staff to identify relevant community news and events.

B. News Editors, are members of our editorial staff that help to identify and communicate relevant news (announcements, articles, press releases and other information) about our community. Most News Editors work either a certain “beat”, such as a particular school, or a particular topic of interest to our readers.

C. Community Liaisons, are important volunteers that help our staff stay plugged into the community. Therefore, Community Liaisons are first and foremost engaged within our community and usually within particular areas of interest and need (arts, non-profits, education, etc.). They help our staff seek out opportunities to make a difference by communicating with our staff to identifying good causes, highlighting positive stories and themes within our community.

COMPENSATION/HOURS: Druid City Media Team Members may be either paid or unpaid, depending on the position and experience, however compensation is typical for the industry where applicable. Digital Media & Design Internship(s):

Druid City Media (DCM) Digital Media & Design Interns are responsible for a wide array of activities within the DCM process from designing logos and ads, to building and maintaining customer facing websites. There is an almost limitless abundance of opportunities to learn and get your hands dirty with real projects that are highly visible and have a meaningful impact on the organization.
 
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:Experience with HTML/5, CSS/3, Javascript; familiarity with SEO and major social media frameworks. Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud, including Dreamweaver & Photoshop are a plus. The ideal applicant will be available for at least one semester (four months) as an intern, but we welcome longer term and/or post-graduate internships as well.
 
COMPENSATION/HOURS:Druid City Media interns typically receive hourly compensation and may receive course credit. Normal office hours are from 9:30 to 5:30, Monday through Friday, plus there are sometimes opportunities for after-hours and/or weekend activities (typically fun things like parties, festivals, and other events, but occasionally deadline related items).
